Double Photoionization of Atomic Ions

Abstract

The semi-relativistic Schrodinger equation is solved using (l1 j1 l2 j2 J) coupled channels of spin-orbit eigenfunction products on a two dimensional (r1 r2) lattice. The two-active electron atom time-dependent close-coupling method is used to calculate double photoionization cross sections for a variety of atomic ions in support of free-electron laser experiments.
