A Career in Physics: The Importance of Mentoring

COFFEE_KLATCH  · Invited

Abstract

I will briefly review my path to a career in physics, which has included two years as a program manager at the National Science Foundation in addition to research and teaching as a professor. The importance of mentoring in my own career will be emphasized, both from the perspective of a mentor and a mentee. I will present some statistics on women in physics and will conclude with a few words of advice.
