Georgia College Raspberry Busch

POSTER

Abstract

The Georgia College Raspberry Busch (GCRB) is an inexpensive solution to our computational Astronomical needs. The Raspberry Pi 2B is a 35 dollar computer not much larger than a credit card. Each unit Pi has a 1 GHz quad core ARM CPU, 1GB RAM and a 32GB SD flash memory of wich 4.5GB is occupied by the operating system. Currently the GCRB is a cluster of 8 Raspberry Pis.To expand the system, simply flash a slave image onto a fresh SD card and assign a new IP address. We plan to present benchmarks. The GCRB will be used to process astronomical data.
