Photofission measurements using the HI$\gamma$S facility at TUNL
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
In an effort to understand and compare the effect of the incoming probe on the fission product yield distribution (neutron $\it{vs.}$ photon), a program has been initiated to measure fission product yields in photoinduced fission. Photofission measurements were performed at the High Intensity $\gamma$-ray Source (HI$\gamma$S) at Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory on $^{235}$U, $^{238}$U, and $^{239}$Pu at E$_{\gamma}$ = 13 MeV. Results on the first ever photofission product yield measurements obtained with monoenergetic photon beams will be discussed during the meeting.
