Biophysical Analysis of the Dental Radiograph Image Using Computational and Physical Method
POSTER
Abstract
In this paper, an alternative fast algorithm for dental diseases detection was computationally and physically studied. Generally, digital image subtraction method and filtering method such as LPF (Low Pass Filter) and HP (High Pass Filter) are used to reduce the structure noise of normal anatomic detail.
The main purpose of this research was to develop a better algorithm that would enhance the quality of the final digital radiograph image of dental structures. An ideal low pass filter would be able to increase the resolution of image as well as decrease the Ringing Artifact. In this paper, a few trigonometric functions and specific algebraic function were tested to reduce Ringing Artifact. Compared to those produced by using a box function, the presented method improved the resolution of the resulting image.
