Kinematic Factorization of Structure Functions Using Lightcone Momentum Fractions
POSTER
Abstract
This poster examines the two commonly used lightcone momentum fractions which are used for calculating structure functions for semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS). It first displays that one of the momentum fractions, and by extension the structure function using it, is kinematically factorized, as QCD predicts, whereas the other is not. It then plots existing experimental data against each of them to display that structure functions using the factorized fraction are indeed a better representation of the data than those using the unfactorized one.
