New Gravitational Wave Signatures of Gauged Baryon Number
POSTER
Abstract
Theories with gauged baryon number are an attractive extension of the Standard Model – they contain a natural dark matter candidate, provide an understanding of the lack of observation of proton decay, and offer a rich collection of phenomenological signatures. Focusing on a recently proposed model with gauged U(1) baryon number symmetry, I will show that it leads to a new type of multi-peaked primordial gravitational wave signal due to two phase transitions and subsequent domain wall annihilation in the early Universe. This unique signature can be searched for in upcoming gravitational wave interferometers (LISA, DECIGO, Big Bang Observer), in pulsar timing array experiments, and through astrometry observations.
