Power jets: jets by wringing the most out of the QCD power spectrum
ORAL
Abstract
As multiplicity at the Large Hadron Collder increases, an opportunity arises to maximally extract the information contained in the QCD power spectrum. We introduce "power jets," a scheme that uses the fully correlated information of the QCD power spectrum to reconstruct jets, free of the arbitrary cutoff constraints imposed in conventional, sequential jet clustering algorithms. These kinematic reconstructions can accurately probe jet-substructure and the underlying hard physics on an event-by-event basis, even in the presence of high pile up.
