Modern CMOS Technology for Quantum Computing

ORAL

Abstract

Quantum processors have been successfully scaled to hundreds and thousands of qubits. To realize practical quantum advantage, millions of physical qubits are needed. Different quantum systems are facing different challenges. For solid state qubits like superconducting qubits and spin qubits, materials engineering improves the qubit quality and packaging solutions enable large-scale integration. For atom/ion and optics systems, integrated photonics can help further scale up. In the semiconductor industry, billions of transistors have been integrated in one chip after decades of development in materials engineering and advanced packaging. In this talk, I will discuss how Applied Materials, the leader in materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor, will leverage the modern CMOS technology to improve and scale up quantum processors.
