Cavity Mode Initialization via a Rabi Driven Qubit

ORAL

Abstract

Resetting memory modes efficiently in bosonic circuit QED systems is a crucial requirement. Due to the designed weak coupling of the modes to the environment, resetting operations take a relatively long time. We have developed a coupling technique which couples the memory mode to a readout mode using a Rabi driven qubit. The qubit is coupled to both modes

using sideband driving tones. During the application of this technique the original state of the memory mode decays via the readout mode, and the memory mode is then left in a known coherent state, thereby initializing the memory mode. Simulations indicate that our method is expected to outperform previously demonstrated methods.
