Long-Lived Isospin Excitations in Magic-Angle Twisted Bilayer Graphene

Abstract

Magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene (MATBG) has emerged as a rich platform for exploring strongly correlated phenomena, including superconductivity and cascade behavior. Despite significant progress, the dynamics underlying these correlated states remain poorly understood. Here, we report on our study of isospin dynamics for MATBG using exciton sensing combined with optical pump-probe spectroscopy. Our findings reveal pronounced isospin fluctuations, providing new insights into the collective excitations within MATBG and highlighting a novel approach for studying dynamics in other graphene systems.
