Behavior of a clamped active elastic bar
POSTER
Abstract
This study investigates the behavior of a two-dimensional clamped active elastic bar under an external force, and compares it to a passive bar. This work uses numerical analysis to find internal stresses and bending properties as a function of activity, nonlinearity and system size. It also characterizes emergent oscillations within the structure. Unlike previous models focusing on one-dimensional structures such as chains of Hexbugs, this research introduces a two-dimensional structure.
