Exploring Quantum Transport and Magnetic State Evolution in RAlSi (R = Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd) Weyl Semimetals

ORAL

Abstract

Weyl semimetals have become a central topic in condensed matter physics due to their topological properties and potential for advanced electronic applications . The unique band structures in these materials lead to notable magnetotransport phenomena, including linear, non-saturating magnetoresistance, Shubnikov–de Haas (SdH) oscillations, the topological Hall effect (THE), and weak antilocalization (WAL). Recent work on RAlSi compounds (R = Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd) identifies them as type-II Weyl semimetals, offering a valuable platform for studying topological states and transport properties in rare-earth systems.

This presentation will compare the RAlSi series, focusing on how magnetic ordering—from ferromagnetic CeAlSi to antiferromagnetic GdAlSi—affects magnetotransport behavior and Fermi surface features. We will discuss the role of Weyl nodes in driving SdH oscillations and their variation with temperature and magnetic field, as well as the connection between SdH frequencies and distinct Weyl nodes. The findings highlight the impact of magnetic order and Weyl fermion dynamics on topological transport in rare-earth-based Weyl semimetals.
