Magnetic competitions in Ca$_3$(Ru$_{1-x}$Ti$_x$)$_2$O$_7$

ORAL

Abstract

Elastic and inelastic neutron scattering experiments were performed on bilayer ruthenate Ca$_3$Ru$_2$O$_7$ with 3.5\% Ti-substitution. The parent compound's antiferromagnetic order AFM-b persists, coexisting with various antiferromagnetic phases for $T < 70$~K. I will also discuss the strong effect of Ti-substitution on the single-ion anisotropy.
