Lattice QCD, kaons, muons, and neutrinos

Abstract
I review the current status and outlook for three pertinent tests of the standard model. Neutrino interactons at the quark-level are the first link in a chain describing neutrino interactions with nuclei. In lattice calculations excited state contamination is a significant factor in extracting ground state matrix elements. I discuss this and other hurdles to overcome to obtain precision matrix elements which are required to fully realize the potential of neutrino experiments. A long standing challenge in the kaon sector is the first principles computation of direct CP violation in kaon decays. I describe recent progress and expectations. Finally I layout the remaining challenges for the muon anomaly (g-2) in the standard model and how they are being addressed.
