Multimessenger Connection and the Emerging Picture of High-Energy Neutrino Sources
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
The era of multimessenger astrophysics with high-energy neutrinos began with the discovery of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos in IceCube in 2013. Today, after a decade of observation, IceCubeb has identified neutrino emission from a nearby active galaxy and uncovered neutrino emission from the Milky Way. In this talk, I will review the recent breakthroughs in identifying the origin of high-energy neutrinos and discuss the emerging multimessenger picture from these recent developments and the opportunities they present to understand cosmic ray acceleration. In addition, I will discuss how the multimessenger connection between neutrinos and electromagnetic emission could guide observations.
