Preparing for the Habitable Worlds Observatory: Updates from the HWO Science Interest Group

ORAL

Abstract

The Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO) Science Interest Group (SIG) serves as a focal point for coordinating scientific community input and engagement in support of NASA's next flagship observatory dedicated to general astrophysics and the search for life beyond the Solar System. Over the past year, the HWO SIG has expanded its efforts to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange across disciplines, including the launch of a regular online seminar series and a range of community-driven discussions. I will present updates on the SIG's ongoing activities, highlight key outcomes from community interactions, and outline plans for upcoming initiatives aimed at ensuring broad participation and scientific readiness for HWO.
