Correlations and fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions with local charge conservation

ORAL

Abstract

We study cumulants and balance functions of hadron numbers produced in heavy-ion collisions using 2-point correlation with local charge conservation and correlations. We elucidate the connection between the measured observables, range of local charge fluctuations, and local correlations encoded in susceptibilities. We then incorporate various effects, such as resonance decays, baryon annihilation, and critical fluctuations and evaluate their effect of the observables at ALICE and RHIC.
