Piecewise-Adiabatic Search Method for Continuous Gravitational Waves:

Oral-In-person  · Withdrawn

Abstract

Multiple pulsar binaries featuring orbital period modulations have been observed. The current search pipelines in LALSuite do not incorporate these modulations in the signal model.

We have developed a method to search for Continuous Gravitational Waves from these systems by implementing a piecewise-adiabatic solution which breaks the data into smaller time-chunks, over which the orbital period (or any other parameter) is effectively constant. We then perform a single-template search over each time-chunk and coherently add the detection statistic. I would like to discuss this method and the results from using this method on the publicly available LIGO data.
