The Muon Collider: A Next-Generation Machine for the Energy Frontier

ORAL  · Invited

Abstract

The muon collider has emerged as a transformative option for advancing the energy frontier of particle physics. Combining the precision of lepton colliders with the energy reach of hadron machines, a muon collider offers a unique window into the physics of electroweak symmetry breaking, the Higgs sector, and possible new physics at the multi-TeV scale. In this talk I will provide an overview of the physics motivation, accelerator concept, and detector challenges of the muon collider program. I will also touch on the status of R&D efforts coordinated by the U.S. Muon Collider and International Muon Collider Collaborations.
