Improved ICARUS Side Cosmic Ray Tagger Resolution Using Data-Driven Calibration of Timing Delays
ORAL
Abstract
The ICARUS detector at Fermilab (the far detector of the Short-Baseline Neutrino program) is enclosed by a Cosmic Ray Tagger (CRT), whose precise timing is used to tag events collected during neutrino beam operation that contain entering comic rays. The CRT is composed of three subsystems: top, side, and bottom, which each have distinct module designs. This presentation focuses on improving the time and position reconstruction resolution of the ~450 m2 double-layer side CRT system using a data-driven calibration of timing delays.
