Blinded search for the Higgs boson decay to a pair of muons

Abstract
In mid-2022, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN began Run 3. In this study, proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13.6 TeV are analyzed using data collected by the CMS experiment to perform a blinded search for the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying to two muons. In particular, our group investigates this decay through the vector boson fusion (VBF) production channel, developing selection strategies and analysis techniques to improve the sensitivity of the measurement while maintaining blindness to the signal region.
