Search for rare decay of SM Higgs to light scalars with b jets and τ leptons in final state in CMS experiment
ORAL
Abstract
A search for the exotic decay of SM Higgs boson to a pair of light pseudo-scalars (a1, a2) is performed with 2 final states: 4b2τ and 2b2τ, analyzing p-p collision data recorded during Run 2 by the CMS detector at √s = 13 TeV. Further, three channels are considered: μτ, eτ and eμ. Machine Learning techniques are used to optimize signal extraction. Background is estimated using both MC simulations and data-driven methods. Signal is extracted from maximum likelihood fit and limits are set on the branching fraction of h→ a1a2→ 4b2τ/ 2b2τ for a range of a1, a2 masses. Interpretation in theoretical model proposing extension of SM scalar sector by 2 real scalar singlets.
