The Earth-Humanity Coalition and the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development

ORAL

Abstract

The Earth-Humanity Coalition (EHC) emerged in April 2024 from processes around the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development. The EHC seeks to contribute to the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD) by reimagining knowledge generation processes. The EHC seeks to foster the weaving in of all knowledge, transcending boundaries of disciplines, academia, geographies and cultures, in order to work for equitable human well-being and planetary health, and co-design mechanisms and structures that can enable the same. A review of the activites of the EHC so far, plans for the future and the possible pathways for involvement of physicists will be discussed.
