LIGO power spectrum line removal and time/frequency analysis

The LIGO and Virgo data exhibit numerous sharp line features in their frequency domain power spectra. The traditional approach has been to whiten the lines via PSD estimates. Here I present an alternative approach that coherently subtracts all the line features. In contrast to the incoherent whitening procedure, line subtraction preserves more of the data. Line subtraction also significantly improves time domain and wavelet domain analyses.
