Coordinating Panel for Software and Computing Year 1

ORAL

Abstract

The Coordination Panel for Software and Computing (CPSC) is marking its first anniversary. Over the past year, the panel has focused on establishing its structure, defining priorities, and building connections across the high-energy physics (HEP) software and computing community. In this presentation, we will review our progress in organizing the panel’s activities, setting up communication channels, and aligning with related initiatives within HEP and beyond.

We will highlight efforts toward developing, socializing, and implementing sustainable support models for common software, which a cornerstone of our mission to strengthen shared tools and encourage best practices for their use. In addition, we will present ongoing work to recognize and celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams who contribute to the success of the HEP software and computing ecosystem.

Looking ahead, we will outline our plans for deeper community engagement through training initiatives, improved communication, and participation in shaping the future of software and computing technologies. Our goal is to ensure that the CPSC continues to serve as a catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and long-term sustainability across the global HEP computing community.
