SuperKEKB and FCC-ee – Lessons plus Synergies

ORAL  · Invited

Abstract

SuperKEKB has achieved significantly higher specific luminosity than its predecessor KEKB, and it has proven a much more sustainable machine. The collider in Tsukuba has successfully demonstrated several key design elements of the FCC-ee. The design luminosity has not yet been reached, however. This talk reviews the accomplishments, challenges, and obstacles of SuperKEKB and compares these with the FCC-ee design. It also illustrates how CERN software tools developed for the FCC-ee can be used to shed light on several obstacles encountered at SuperKEKB, thereby highlighting the importance and strength of international collaboration in the accelerator field.
