J. J. Sakurai Prize for Theoretical Particle Physics: Thinking about Quantum Gravity
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
Part of the trouble with quantum gravity is that many of our powerful classical tools are not well suited for the quantum theory. However, modern quantum field theory techniques prove to be useful at ordinary energies. I review the thoughts behind the effective field theory treatment of quantum general relativity and some of the lessons and limitations.
