FIAP Career Lectureship Award: From Physics to Product: Building a Hard Tech Startup Together in Real Time

Abstract
This is not a traditional talk—it's a live experiment. In this interactive session, we (the plural not royal) will build a physics-based startup from scratch, in real time, using only the tools in the room: our collective expertise, a few prompts, and the pressure of the clock.
Together, we will define a problem worth solving, select the core physics driving the innovation, identify a viable entry market, and map the risks that could kill the venture before it begins. We will try to touch on patents, marketing and pitching. Along the way, I’ll share lessons from my own journey translating complex physics into real-world medical technologies—including an FDA-cleared 3D x-ray system and a next-gen non-invasive health diagnostic.
This is a session for physicists who want to see their work escape the lab and for anyone curious about deep-tech startups. Come ready to think, argue, imagine, and maybe invest in something.
