QuantumFest: A new model for creative and inclusive quantum engagement

ORAL  · Invited

Abstract

QuantumFest, co-created and co-directed by Maria Longobardi and Smitha Vishveshwara, debuted at the APS Global Physics Summit 2025 as a large-scale, interdisciplinary celebration of quantum science for a general audience and scientists. Combining performance, art, interactive installations, and public engagement, the program, including the Quantum Jubilee, Save the Cat, Birds of Science, and other creative initiatives, transformed complex quantum concepts into accessible and emotionally resonant experiences. In this talk, I present the vision and design of QuantumFest and share key lessons learned about using artistic collaboration, narrative, and community-driven participation to broaden quantum engagement and strengthen connections across the scientific community.
