Comparison of intrinsic parameters definitions across different NR codes
Oral-In-person
Abstract
Numerical relativity codes developed over the past two decades employ different formulations of Einstein's equations, initial data schemes, and methods for gravitational-wave extraction. The next generation of GW detectors are expected to be sensitive to these systematic differences. Therefore, we are performing cross-validation studies focused on the definitions of intrinsic parameters used by different NR codes. Using a reference waveform model (e.g., NRSur7dq4), we will explore its parameter space to build a map identifying the parameters that match a chosen entry from a given catalog. In this way, we can systematically compare the intrinsic parameters of different NR codes and investigate how these differences affect waveform mismatches for nominally identical parameters.
