Measurement of charge asymmetries in top-quark pair production with the CMS detector
ORAL
Abstract
We present a study of the inclusive and differential top-antitop charge and leptonic asymmetries using proton-proton collision data at 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment during Run 2 of the LHC. The analysis targets dileptonic final states using a template-fitting approach based on charge-asymmetry observables. Templates derived from simulated ttbar events are reweighted to introduce varying charge-asymmetry hypotheses. These reweighted templates are then fitted to data to extract the inclusive and differential asymmetries. We also explore combining the results with the semi-leptonic channel to improve the overall precision. Finally, the measured asymmetries are interpreted in the context of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT), providing constraints on the relevant EFT operators.
