Community Forum: New Inclusive Advisory Structure at APS
ANCILLARYEVENT · EVT-F41 · ID: EVT-F41
In October 2025, APS formed the Inclusive Committee Structure Working Group (ICS-WG) at the APS Council's request. Its charge is to propose recommendations for a new, more inclusive advisory committee structure within APS to support the full spectrum of groups historically marginalized or underrepresented in physics while not diluting existing efforts. The proposed structure will better coordinate partnerships and collaboration between staff, committees, and units in supporting inclusion within the physics community. Join us for an open forum that invites community conversation to ensure that the new framework reflects the diversity, expertise, and priorities of the global physics community.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and engage directly with members of the working group. Your perspectives will help APS continue its efforts to build a more inclusive and equitable physics community both within and beyond APS.
