PhD students and postdocs are very aware of the career statistics. They realize that only 5%-10% of graduates will ultimately secure a permanent academic position. Social media is full of stories of PhDs struggling to convince industry hiring managers that they can be a valuable contributor to their team.
This presents a challenging situation for faculty who have only spent time in an academic setting. Can a professor who has no industry experience prepare their students to transition effectively into the private sector?
The answer is yes.
In this 45-minute session, I'll share the framework I've developed over 25 years in industry—the same system that I’ve taught to thousands of PhDs—so that you can begin helping your own students and postdocs stand out to hiring managers and get exciting industry jobs that they love.
