Grant Writing for Geniuses, Part 1: Finding Grants That Fit

ORAL

Abstract

Early-career researchers sometimes struggle to win grants, and that is because smart people often confuse "grants" and "grades." Grants are awarded based on the merit of a project and how well it aligns with the funding agency's goals, not simply on the intelligence or writing skills of the applicant. This workshop teaches you skills to articulate what matters most to you and then identify people (with money) who care about the same things. It is entirely possible to make a living doing work you love, supported by people who are excited about the impact you want to make.
