Physical Review Session: Key Discoveries in Contemporary Astronomy and Astrophysics

A central highlight of this session is the presentation of the Emerging Astrophysicist Award for Outstanding Physical Review Paper to K. Lodha for his contribution to one of the DESI DR2 papers. This distinction is being awarded for the first time by the Astronomy and Astrophysics Topical Group of the Physical Review journals. The session will also feature presentations on the first scientific results from Euclid, as well as recent developments, observations, and future perspectives in the study of kilonovae.
