Structured Light: from fundamentals to applications

ORAL  · Invited

Abstract

Structured light has gained popularity over the past two decades across various research fields. The potential of its fascinating properties has provided new perspectives for both previously unforeseen and well-established applications. Crucial to this are the several techniques that have been developed for their generation and characterization, where digital spatial light modulators have become a key instrument. In the first part of this talk, I will review some of the fundamental aspects of structured light, such as their generation and characterization. In the last part I will provide specific examples of key applications where structured light beams are gaining popularity, with special emphasis in optical metrology
