Modeling circuit QED systems at Google - Part 1 of 2

ORAL

Abstract

Designing better quantum processors based on circuit QED technology relies on accurate and extensible numerical modeling. In this talk, we present a practical framework for the Hamiltonian description of complex superconducting quantum circuits. We show how this parametrization interfaces with GPU-accelerated tools that we use for numerically optimizing simultaneous two-qubit gates in small 2d grids, producing an initial guess for pulse shapes fed into a larger-scale tensor-network simulator (Part 2). The result is a process that accelerates the hardware design-test cycle.
