Software-Enabled Innovations that Drive Robust Commercial Operation on Quantinuum Helios

Abstract

Quantinuum's newest commercially available quantum computer, Helios, realizes our next generation of trapped ion hardware. With 98 qubits, Helios is also our largest and most complex system to date. While important architectural improvements have been crucial to the development of this system, additional innovation in several areas is necessary to keep such a complex system alive and manageable enough to sustain commercial operation. In this talk, I will discuss software-enabled progress made at Quantinuum that supports robust commercial operation on Helios by developing new strategies and techniques to keep depth-1 circuit times reasonable, reduce errors, and minimize downtime.
