Design and Performance Overview of the ePIC Detector at the EIC
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
The ePIC detector is a general-purpose detector designed for the Electron Ion Collider and fully integrated with the collider interaction region at IP8. Its design provides nearly hermetic coverage over a wide pseudorapidity range and combines precision tracking, high-resolution electromagnetic and hadronic calorimetry, and comprehensive particle-identification capabilities. This talk presents an overview of the ePIC detector, including the central detector and the forward and backward subsystems. The sensor technologies employed and the expected detector performance are also discussed.
