Integrating Particle Physics Data Analysis into Undergraduate Curriculum Using Jupyter Notebooks

POSTER

Abstract

This project develops a suite of Jupyter notebooks using the uproot library to enable undergraduate-friendly analysis of CERN ATLAS Open Data. These interactive resources are integrated into Scientific Modeling and Data Analysis at Washington College. The notebooks guide students through tasks such as reading ROOT files, plotting particle-level kinematics, applying basic data selection criteria, and classifying background and signal processes. The goal is to bridge physics concepts with modern computational tools while exposing students to real-world high-energy physics data.
