Designed for Impact: Evaluating the Performance of Specimens through Pendulum Testing
POSTER
Abstract
This research investigates the performance of five unique specimen patterns designed using computer-aided design (CAD) and exposed to impact testing using an impact pendulum. We also tracked the humidity levels and weight for each specimen, as factors can influence the results. Our objective was to evaluate energy absorption, deformation, and the energy lost during each impact. Each of the patterns underwent six repeated tests to ensure consistent data. This study was done in order to provide insights into the durability and impact resistance of engineered structures. Therefore, it could have broader implications to study other structures
