Chiral metastructures for extreme control of light

ORAL  · Invited

Abstract

In this talk, I will discuss our recent progress in leveraging tailored broken geometrical and temporal symmetries to control the interaction of light with structured materials and metasurfaces. In particular, I will discuss our theoretical and experimental work on metasurfaces supporting chiral eigenstates, locally structured with subwavelength resolution, and exhibiting strong reciprocal and nonreciprocal interactions with the incoming light. I will also discuss the unique opportunities that broken symmetries and chirality enable in the context of polaritonic, nonreciprocal and topological systems, and the resulting extreme control over classical and quantum states.
