Fabrication and characterization of La<sub>2</sub>RNi<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>/YBa<sub>2</sub>Cu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>x</sub>&nbsp;bilayer thin films (R&nbsp;= La, Pr, Sm)

Abstract

For quantum materials, the combination of two distinct compounds sometimes leads to emergent properties and opens a new research topic. One of the examples is YBa2Cu3Ox/La1-xCaxMO3 bilayers. We would apply this paradigm to the newly discovered superconductor La2RNi2O3 (R = La, Pr, Sm). Bilayers of YBa2Cu3Ox/ La2RNi2O3 will be fabricated by PLD and characterized. The main focus will be whether the proximity effect exists. Especially, the change of the carrier concertation in both layers and the signature of the density waves will be discussed.
