Unconventional phases in twisted bilayers of strongly correlated materials

Abstract
While much of the current research on moiré systems has focused on weakly correlated materials, we explore a new frontier: the case when one or both monolayers are Mott antiferromagnets. We discuss the rich phases stabilized in such systems, including an unconventional excitonic insulator phase resulting from doped Mott physics.
