Reducing Error Mitigation Bias using Clifford Circuits

Poster-In-person

Abstract

We present a malleable and low-cost method for benchmarking and mitigating the bias of an error mitigation protocol. We do so by constructing Clifford circuits which mirror the application circuit structure and have expectation values equal to one. Our method is agnostic to the target application and hardware architecture at the expense of a small overhead of single-qubit gates. We demonstrate our work numerically using classical noisy simulation of the IBM superconducting hardware.
