Efficient Automated Tune-up of Exchange-only Spin Qubit in a Multiplexed Device

ORAL

Abstract

Improved automated techniques are required to scale the tune-up, measurement, and control of large arrays of silicon-based spin qubits. HRL has fabricated devices with 162 isolated silicon exchange-only qubits known as triple-quantum-dot arrays (TQDAs). Effective and efficient automated control is necessary to test a full TQDA and provide statistically significant device characterization feedback. We have established automated electrostatic, spin-to-charge, and exchange calibration control methodologies to operate TQDAs without human intervention. We have applied these techniques to completely characterize full TQDAs in less than one week. Such advances currently allow HRL to evaluate qubit design changes and serve as a key step towards scalable qubit control.
