Interaction-induced layer-skyrmion lattices in moire rhombohedral graphene Chern insulators
Oral-In-person
Abstract
We show that the Chern insulator in rhombohedral multilayer graphene aligned with hBN can be understood as arising from an interaction-induced layer-skyrmion lattice, which generates an effective magnetic field. The resulting skyrmion lattice is physically analogous to magnetic skyrmion crystals and hosts a hierarchy of collective excitations naturally described within the framework of skyrmion-lattice dynamics.
