Electron and Phonon Dynamics in Chiral Systems

ORAL  · Invited

Abstract

Manifestations of molecular and solids chirality in dynamical phenomena, long known in spectroscopy, have recently received growing attention, culminating in recent activities on the possible implications of electronic motion in helical landscapes as well as "chiral vibrations" in the chiral-induced spin selectivity effect. This talk will address the way molecular chirality is manifested in its electronic and nuclear dynamics and, discuss ways to quantify chirality, define and quantify the chirality of molecular vibrations and describe several implications of molecular chirality to the dynamics of vibrational energy (heat) transfer and electron motion in chiral molecular systems.
