Collisionless dynamics of d-wave superconductors
ORAL
Abstract
Using the combination of analytical and numerical techniques we investigate the dynamics of the d-wave order parameter induced by a small sudden perturbation. Similar to the case of the s-wave superconductors, the order parameter oscillates with time. Since the earlier studies of this problem did not specifically identify the frequency and decay of the order parameter oscillations in this talk we fill this void. Consequently, we find that the pairing amplitude oscillates with the frequency which is equal to the twice the value of the pairing gap in the antipodal direction. The oscillations decay according to a power law 1/t2. Experimental ways to verify our findings will also be discussed.
